Grant Bumgarner
Funeral Director, Prearrangement Director
Grant came to Mackey Mortuary in 1993 as funeral director/embalmer. He has been a funeral prearrangement counselor/director since 2005. He was elected to Travelers Rest City Council in 2004, is a part-time staff member Word of God Christian Counseling Center, and attends College Park Worship Center.

Rose Griffith
Office Manager
Rose joined the staff of Mackey Mortuary in January, 2000, where she serves as the office manager. She is a pianist and director of music at Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

Kathryn Helt
Community Relations Specialist
Kathryn serves as the Community Relations Specialist for the Upstate. A former teacher, she has lived in Greenville for over 20 years and is a member of First Presbyterian Church in Greenville. Kathryn currently volunteers with Miracle Hill Ministries’ Renewal program.

Matt James
Manager, Funeral Director
Matt James joined Mackey Mortuary in 2004. A native of Georgia, Matt entered the funeral business in 1988 when he accepted a job at a local funeral home. What started as a part time job over Christmas break from college soon turned into a career of serving families. Matt is a graduate of Georgia State University and Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service where he served as class president.

Fletcher Kirkland
Funeral Director
Fletcher Kirkland is the former owner of Mackey Mortuary, as was his father before him. A Greenville native, he is a graduate of Furman University. Service in our community includes Greenville Kiwanis Club, Chairman of St. Francis Hospital Physician Services Board, member of St. Andrew Society of Upper South Carolina. He is a communicant of Christ Church Episcopal.

David McGee
Funeral Director
David McGee joined Mackey Mortuary as a Funeral Director and Arranger in 1997. He enjoys assisting families in every aspect of creating a memorable remembrance for their loved one. His philosophy is that “no detail is too small” and that “you only perform a service once” thus ensuring the highest commitment of service. This has been his focus for over thirty years.

Edd Sheriff
Funeral Director
A Funeral Director at Mackey Mortuary for more than 50 years, Edd is a well-known, deeply respected member of the Greenville community. Even though Edd is semi-retired, he is still requested by many families in their time of need. Edd enjoys traveling, cooking and entertaining in his home. He is often seen walking his dog, Buddy, through his North Main Street neighborhood.

Jerry Sizemore
Funeral Director
Jerry has been a Funeral Director for Mackey Mortuary for 20 years, and has 33 years funeral experience. Jerry is a member of Earle Street Baptist Church. In our community, he is a 20 year volunteer in PTA in Greenville County Schools, and served as unit, district and state PTA officer. He is an Honorary Life Member of the South Carolina and National PTA.

Malcolm Walls
Funeral Director
For over half a century, Malcolm Walls of Mackey Mortuary has served Greenville families. Malcolm is an active member of the Executive Sertoma Club of Greenville (Sertoma derives its name from “Service to Mankind”). He has always been involved in service in one form or another - not only as a volunteer, but as a club member and a funeral director.
